Terms of Service

Effective date: October 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of englishfordisputeresolution.com and its pages, including course pages such as BRNO (together, the “Site”), operated by Barrie J. Roberts as English for Dispute Resolution (“EDR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Use of the Site

You may use the Site for your own personal, educational, and professional learning. You agree not to:

  • use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other users’ accounts, or our systems;

  • interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by uploading harmful code or overloading it with automated requests;

  • submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes anyone else’s rights;

  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

Course Accounts

Some parts of the Site, such as course pages, let you sign in with an email link or with Google to save your answers. You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure and for activity that happens under your sign-in. Please tell us right away if you believe someone has used your account without permission. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

Intellectual Property

The Site and its content—including text, course materials, worksheets, role-plays, fact sheets, checklists, graphics, and design—are owned by Barrie J. Roberts or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. © 2026 Barrie J. Roberts. All rights reserved.

Students enrolled in an EDR course may view, download, and print course materials for their own study in that course. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, publicly display, or create derivative works from Site content for any other purpose without our prior written permission. Instructors who would like to use EDR materials in their own teaching should contact us.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the answers, notes, messages, and other content you submit through the Site (“Your Content”). You give us a limited permission to store, process, and display Your Content as needed to operate the Site, provide your course, and respond to you. If you submit an article or story for the blog, you give us permission to edit and publish it on the Site and in related EDR materials, with credit to you, unless we agree otherwise in writing. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share Your Content.

Educational Purpose; No Legal Advice

The Site provides educational materials about English, negotiation, mediation, and dispute resolution. Role-plays, examples, and fact sheets are fictional and are provided for teaching purposes only. Nothing on the Site is legal advice, and using the Site does not create an attorney–client or other professional relationship. For advice about a specific legal matter, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to or rely on third-party websites and services, such as LinkedIn, Google, publishers, and our hosting and data providers. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

Disclaimers

The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure, or that saved answers will never be lost. Please keep your own copy of any work that is important to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EDR and Barrie J. Roberts will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EDR and Barrie J. Roberts from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use information.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page and change the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which EDR is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
